Processing of personal data

Content for campaign

Rega stores the personal data that you upload to 75.rega.ch.

This includes, in particular, photos or videos, title, surname, first name, email address and either the duration of your membership or details of your rescue story.

This data is used for public relations purposes in connection with Rega’s anniversary, to provide information about our activities, and for marketing purposes.

In addition, Rega processes the data for the purpose of communicating with you, for record-keeping purposes, and to assert legal claims and defend itself in connection with legal disputes and regulatory proceedings.

The processing is based on the legal basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 31(1) DSG).

Consent once given may be withdrawn at any time and applies to future processing.

Where the processing of personal data is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which Rega is subject (for example, to fulfil statutory retention obligations), Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR or Article 31(1) of the DSG serves as the legal basis.

If processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate or overriding interest of Rega (retention, communication, assertion of legal claims), Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR or Article 31(1) of the DSG serves as the legal basis for the processing.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter as part of your participation, the following personal data is stored: title, surname, first name, email address and, where applicable, your donor number.

Rega uses this data solely for the purpose of sending you the newsletter to which you have subscribed. The processing is based on the legal basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 31(1) of the DSG).

If at any time you no longer wish to receive emails from Rega, you can unsubscribe via the relevant link in any Rega newsletter. However, if you make use of other Rega services (e.g. membership or orders from the online shop), your data will remain in Rega’s database for the purpose of providing these services and will be processed for business transactions.

Data retention

The personal data collected as part of the campaign (including images and videos) will only be stored for as long as is necessary to carry out the campaign. Afterwards, the data of participants who were not selected will be deleted. Where deletion is not technically possible, the data will be archived and access rights restricted as far as possible. The selected entries from participants will be retained in the internal historical archive for archiving purposes, in particular to maintain the company’s history and to ensure the traceability of the company’s development. Access is restricted accordingly, and any further use for operational or promotional purposes is excluded.

Disclosure of data

Rega may publish the data on its own anniversary website and in its magazine 1414, on the anniversary leaflet and in the Rega newsletter, as well as on its social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. We have no influence over how social media service providers process your data; further information can be found in the relevant privacy policies, the links to which can be found in the general privacy policy on the Rega website.

Rega engages service providers in particular for website hosting, website operation, magazine printing and newsletter delivery. Rega selects its service providers carefully and ensures contractually that they do not process the data for their own purposes or pass it on to unauthorised third parties.

Rega would like to point out that it is possible for your data to be processed by our service providers both within the EU/EEA and in countries without an adequate level of data protection. Where Rega engages such providers in countries without adequate data protection, the transfer is based on Article 46(1)(c) of the GDPR or Article 16(2)(d) of the DSG.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right to access and rectify, restrict or erase your data, as well as, where applicable, the right to data portability. These rights apply provided that no statutory retention obligations or other legitimate or overriding interests of Rega stand in the way of the request. You are entitled at any time to withdraw consent to data processing previously given and have the right to object to our data processing, in particular that carried out for direct marketing purposes (Article 21 of the GDPR or Article 30(2)(b) of the DSG).

You also have, where applicable, the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Any such requests, as well as a withdrawal of consent or an objection, may be sent to the address given under section10 .

General purposes

When you use the website, we process your personal data for the purposes described in the following sections, as well as for the following purposes:

  • Provision and further development of our offers, services and websites;
  • Ensuring the smooth running of our operations, in particular our IT systems;
  • Preserving evidence to assert legal claims and defend ourselves in connection with legal disputes and regulatory proceedings;

Cookies

Rega uses cookies on this website. These are small text files that are stored on your device. Your browser accesses these files. The cookies used by Rega’s web servers do not pose a security risk to your computer system. Nor do they store any personal or security-related data. The information stored in the cookies can only be accessed by the issuer of the cookie, not by third parties.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technical cookies is the legitimate interest (operation of the website) in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR and Article 31(1) of the DSG. The legal basis for the necessary processing of personal data using cookies for analytical purposes is, where the user has given their consent, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 31(1) of the DSG.

Further information on the use of cookies is set out in the general privacy policy on the Rega website

Social media plugins

Various social media plugins are set up on the Rega website using a two-click procedure. These are only activated when you click on the provider’s icon. No automatic connection is therefore established, and no data is automatically transmitted to social media services when you visit the website. Only when you click on the icon does your browser establish a connection to the servers of the social media service providers, whereby the provider learns of your visit to the Rega website and your IP address.

We have no control over how social media service providers process your data; further information can be found in their respective privacy policies.

We rely on the legal basis of consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 31(1) of the DSG) provided that you have clicked on the icon.

Please note that, due to the embedding of social media plugins, it is possible that your data may be processed both within the EU/EEA and in countries without an adequate level of data protection. If we use such providers in non-EU countries and you consent, the transfer is based on Article 49(1)(a) of the GDPR or Article 17(1)(a) of the DSG.

If you do not wish your data to be processed in this way by the activated plugins, please ensure that you no longer click on the relevant icons.

Further information on social media plugins is provided in the General Data Protection Policy on the Rega website
